BRIEF INTRODUCTION:

The Arbitration & Conciliation ( Amendment) Bill, 2018 is due to be placed before the Rajya Sabha. If passed in its current form it will set up a regulator for arbitration in India, prohibit foreign legal professionals from acting as arbitrator in India, and give rise to numerous other issues. In this article, we have highlighted the areas in the Bill, which require a serious reconsideration.
